Joyce loves dogs!! When you meet her, you will experience this first hand. She always has a funny story to tell and enjoys talking to anyone and everyone about their dogs. Joyce loves to see dogs and their people succeed together. She works hard everyday to assure that people love their dogs and their behavior as much as their dogs love them.
Rescue is very important to Joyce and you will see any number of these wonderful dogs at The Dog Spot working on finding their confidence, getting healthy, and looking for their new forever homes. Some of the rescues she is involved with include Pound Puppies 'N Kittens, English Bulldog Rescue of GA, Five Freedoms Farm, Atlanta Boxer Rescue, Out of The Box Boxer Rescue, Caitlin's Vine of Bravery, and Angels Among Us.
ABCDT | ABC Certified Dog Trainer, Manager
Savanna came to us as a student from the Animal Behavior College. She is being mentored by Joyce and has completed her Certification process.
During Savannah's mentorship, it was noticed that she has an incredible and natural rapport with dogs so she was asked to join the team at The Dog Spot as a Dog Caretaker. It didn't take long for her to prove her dedication and talent. Savannah was promoted to Manager shortly after being hired and now leads the amazing team at TDS.
Savannah is already helping our playcare and train and board and train dogs learn their new behaviors as well as teaching many of our Group Classes. She is studying and practicing to start teaching privately as well. Keep your eyes on Savannah, she is turning out to be an amazing leader and trainer!

Heather Pesaresi, ABCDT
Certified Dog Trainer
Heather Pesaresi has been employed at The Dog Spot for 2 ½ years. She graduated from the Animal Behavior College in 2018 with a Certification in Domestic Canine Training as well as a Certification in Pet CPR and First Aid. Prior to training on her own at The Dog Spot, as an ABCDT, Heather had to be proficient in her skills and knowledge. She completed the required 18-month apprenticeship under Joyce Keeton, CBC FFCT. Heather is the kind of Trainer that sees a problem from both sides: the human side and the canine side. She must vet every option, theory, and opinion from her team before she decides on a course of action. The Dog Spot is a science-based training and enrichment center; therefore, Heather is always expanding and investigating new and exciting levels of education. She enjoys all types of cases from the simple puppy manners to the challenging fear and anxiety based. Heather has taken the lead on developing our unique and effective Confidence Course that we currently use to help dogs cope in this very difficult human world. She continues to modify and improve the course with every case, whether it's a puppy just learning the ropes or a dog experiencing extreme behavior problems due to fear and anxiety.
When asked her favorite part of being in dog training, she quoted “If I had to pick just one, it’s seeing the relief and happiness in both the pet parent and the dog. That single moment when they all realize they are not just owner and pet, but a family.
